Trains to and from Tenerife South Airport (TFS)

Tenerife Tram, also known as Tranvia de Tenerife, is a railway transit only operating on the island of Tenerife. It is managed and owned by Metropolitano de Tenerife, a limited corporation now fully held by Cabildo de Tenerife.

A tram is different from a train, though they look similar in physical attributes. A tram is designed to travel short distances, specifically along urban streets. At the same time, a train covers long distances, usually outside the city boundaries.

Tenerife Tram service started on June 2, 2007, over a 7.8 miles route connecting Intercambiador (Santa Cruz de Tenerife) with Avenida de la Trinidad (La Laguna). Line 2 began its service between La Cuesta and Tincer, which opened in 2009. The second line is connected with Line 1 at Hospital Universitario and El Cardonal.

A third tram line is proposed to be built along the coastline of Tenerife.

Train Services at Tenerife South Airport

Tenerife South Airport does not have a railway line. The nearest tram station is at Tincer, about 57km or 40 minutes drive via the TF-1 route, depending on the traffic condition in the area.

Bus and tram systems are fully integrated transportation with fare rates almost the same whichever method commuters choose.

Single and round-trip ticket fees depend on the passenger's route. However, they can also pay using their bank card or in cash. A travel card is also sold. Please see below for further details about the Ten+ travel card.
