Trains to and from Fuerteventura Airport (FUE)

The Spanish island of Fuerteventura, which has connections to more than 80 other cities worldwide, is served by Fuerteventura Airport.

With the terminal services offered by the airport, passengers flying into Fuerteventura Airport can be sure of a comfortable and quick arrival. Take your luggage once you've finished the necessary security checks and exited the plane. To enter Puerto del Rosario, you need a passport, a visa, and an ID card.

You should be prepared to present a current passport or ID card if your child travels with you. Please schedule your visit in advance to prevent any delays or inconveniences. Ask for help getting into the terminal as you book your flights online with your airline.

Rental counters are typically located in the arrivals hall. For greater peace of mind, it is advised to book a rental car well in advance if you intend to use one to travel from FUE to your ultimate destination.

It's a great idea to rent a car at the airport because the rates are excellent and it's simpler to get to popular tourist destinations.

Taxis are another type of public transportation. To reach Puerto del Rosario and other vital locations on the island in less than 10 minutes from the airport, constantly hail a cab from the terminal's designated taxi rank.

The city of Puerto del Rosario, the neighboring towns of Morro Jable and Gran Tarajal, as well as the well-known tourist hotspots of Caleta del Fuste and Las Salinas are all served by some bus lines. For more information on the route of these bus lines, visit the bus page.

Fuerteventura Airport currently needs a rail system, which is regrettable. Trains are a standard mode of transportation on the Spanish mainland. However, they are uncommon on Spanish islands, including Fuerteventura, where Puerto del Rosario is located.

Spain Railway Network

The central Spanish cities are where you can find the closest train station. In Spain, many different trains are available to transport you day and night. RENFE runs the vast majority of the Spanish railway system. Spain's extensive high-speed train network will get you where you need to go much faster than the regional train system. However, you'll need to make a seat reservation for the high-speed trains.

The following are a few of the well-traveled routes in these train stations:

  • Barcelona – Madrid
  • Barcelona – Malaga
  • Barcelona – Granada
  • Madrid – Malaga
  • Madrid – Granada
  • Madrid – Seville
  • Madrid - Santiago de Compostela

Corralejo Mini Train

The island of Fuerteventura is located immediately south of Lanzarote, and its capital city has limited access to road trains. The Fuerteventura town of Corralejo exhibits the same.

Although these aren't actual trains and won't ever carry passengers to places such as the Fuerteventura Airport, they are a treat for visitors and a great way to see the neighborhood. They move on wheels such a typical car, but they have a lovely train shape, complete with carriages.

Also known as Wally Trolley, the Corralejo Mini Train operates from Monday through Saturday from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm and on Sundays until 2:30 pm. The tour costs 5 euros and lasts approximately 30 minutes. It begins and ends at the harbor, allowing you to unwind and enjoy everything Corralejo offers.

The train can adjust itself to carry the appropriate number of passengers because the carriages are simple to add or remove. As it trundles through the town, it offers tourists the chance to take beautiful pictures.

Puerto del Rosario and Morro Jable are two additional significant ports on the island of Fuerteventura, from which Naviera Armas runs some ferries. Ferries run seven times weekly from Morro Jable to Las Palmas on Gran Canaria and once weekly to Santa Cruz de Tenerife. There are two trips, each taking three and six hours. There are three weekly sailings from Puerto del Rosario to Las Palmas, allowing passengers to travel there.

Because of these ports, travelers arriving at Fuerteventura Airport will have various transportation options on the island. These include by bus, taxi, and rental cars if they're visiting the region of Fuerteventura on the water by the island's ferry companies.
