Trains to and from Tenerife North Airport (TFN)

Tenerife Tram, locally known as Tranvia de Tenerife, is a light rail transit only available on the island of Tenerife. It is managed and owned by Metropolitano de Tenerife, a limited corporation now 100% held by Cabildo de Tenerife.

The tram service started on June 2, 2007, over a 7.8 miles route connecting Intercambiador (Santa Cruz de Tenerife) with Avenida de la Trinidad (La Laguna). Line 2 began its service between La Cuesta and Tincer, which opened in 2009. The second line is connected with Line 1 at Hospital Universitario and El Cardonal.

A third line is proposed to be constructed along the coastline of Tenerife.

Train Services at Tenerife North Airport

Tenerife Tram has served the island for a long time and has been one of the most accessible transfer services in town. Tenerife is the only island with a railway system serving thousands of residents, especially local and foreign visitors.

Tram transit is one of the fastest ways to transfer places from point A to point B and vice versa. It is also the best choice for passengers taking the long road.

However, Tenerife North Airport does not have a railway line. The nearest tram station is at Avenida de la Trinidad in La Laguna, about 7km or 16- to 20 minutes drive via the TF-5 route, depending on the traffic condition in the area.

In agreement with TITSA, MTSA, and Cabildo de Tenerife, bus and tram systems are fully integrated transportation with fare rates almost the same whichever method the commuters select.

Single and round-trip ticket prices depend on the passenger's route. However, they can pay using their bank card or in cash. A travel card is also available.
